DEMANDS OF THE FEDERATION OF ACCESSIBLE COMPONENTS AND AFFILIATED ASSOCIATIONS FROM THE MUNICIPALITY OF AMED
As the Federation of Accessible Components and Affiliated Associations, we have the following basic demands to the Municipality of Amed:
1. We demand that accessible services for the disabled be prioritised in accordance with your party's understanding of democratic local government and labour regulations.
2. We demand that our association and our members be consulted on the work of our municipalities in the field of disability services.
3. We call for a disability services department to be established in your local authority and for staff to be made up of disabled people, except in exceptional circumstances.
4. We demand that interaction be established with all disability organisations in Amed, that regular meetings be held and that our general suggestions and assessments be taken into account.
5. We demand that a study be conducted and the number of disabled people living in Amed and their living conditions be determined in a short time.
6. We demand that 1 sign language interpreter from different disciplines (sociologist, psychologist, social worker, etc.) be employed in Amed and in districts with more than 50,000 inhabitants. With this employment plan, we demand that the municipality's legislation, websites and all services offered be presented in sign language and in subtitles, which is a unique format for multilingual municipalities.
7. We demand that roads, pavements, public transport, crossings, buildings, construction and authorisation procedures in Amed be made accessible and that no permits be issued for any non-accessible construction work.
8. We demand that the city of Amed, including municipal buildings, be built as a whole with the use of wheelchairs, crutches and canes in mind. In this context, we demand that the yellow lines to be drawn are of a quality that facilitates the lives of visually impaired people and does not pose a danger, and that the works on roads, pavements, public transport and signalling are rebuilt as part of this.
9. We demand that Amed city and district municipality websites, social media accounts and e-government applications meet accessibility criteria.
10. We demand that the staff of the municipality be trained on " Legislation and awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities, UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities".
11. We demand that the legal quotas for the employment of people with disabilities in the municipalities of Amed and the districts be fulfilled immediately.
12. We demand that meetings with the disabled people in Amed and the districts be organised at regular intervals.
13. We demand that a sufficient number of homes for the disabled be established in Amed and the districts.
14. We demand that solidarity protocols be established with organised associations and other NGOs in the field of disability in Amed and that these associations and NGOs be given the opportunity to provide services.
We propose and demand the above.
