Throughout history, humanity has suffered many traumas and destructions. People deprived of their labour and bread, robbed of their future and marginalised by capitalist and imperialist powers have felt the need to renew themselves by growing their meagre hope.
At this point, the beginning of each new year is a very important source of motivation for humanity. We too live together with the anger that the past year has left in us and the hope we have grown for the new year when we wake up on the first morning of 2019, having completed 2018.
2018 was a year in which war, marginalisation, poverty and hardship peaked in our geography and around the world. Unfortunately, people with disabilities were the most affected by this bleak picture.
In particular, the number of people with disabilities in our geography and around the world increased significantly as a result of the devastation caused by the war. People with disabilities are living a life far below the desired standard of living in our region where poverty is increasing day by day.
Moreover, due to their marginalisation, people with disabilities have great difficulty fitting into society. As the Federation of Disabled Components, we wish for a world without war, marginalisation and tears in 2019.
We hope that the new year will bring peace, equality, tranquillity, health and democracy to our entire geography, and we wish you a year in which accessibility will prevail in all areas on the road to a disabled life.
Finally, we celebrate the New Year of all our people, especially our disabled citizens.
